Your photographer will often suggest some great poses but I always say come prepared and take a look at some cute poses on pinterest so you are ready with the shots you absolutely know you want. 

• Classic Poses: Poses such as the froggy pose, where the baby’s head is supported by their hands, or the bum-up pose, where the baby is curled up with their bottom in the air, are best captured in the first two weeks.

2. Prepare the Space: Ensure your home is warm and comfortable, as newborns are sensitive to temperature changes. A cozy environment will help keep your baby calm.
3. Choose Outfits Wisely: Opt for soft, neutral clothing for both your baby and family members. Avoid bright patterns and colors that might distract from the baby.
4. Gather Props: Simple props like soft blankets, hats, or baskets can add a touch of personality to your photos. Keep it minimal to ensure the focus remains on your baby.

Less Disruption: For some, traveling to a studio can be less disruptive than having a photographer visit your home.

Most of the time it comes down to where your photographer shoots and what style you are looking for but it’s always good to keep in mind that you want your newborn to feel safe and comfortable so you get the most out of your portrait session.
